ESSENTIAL ENERGY SERVICES ANNOUNCES PATENT LITIGATION DECISION

Essential Energy Services Ltd. has been advised that the Federal Court of Canada rendered its decision with regard to a patent infringement proceeding commenced in 2013 by Packers Plus Energy Services Inc. alleging that certain methods associated with the Tryton multistage fracturing system infringe a patent issued to Packers Plus.

The court ruled on Nov. 3, 2017, that the patent was not valid and that Essential did not infringe on the patent.

Garnet Amundson, president and chief executive officer of Essential, commented: "This is outstanding news. We are extremely pleased with the court's ruling that the patent is not valid and that Essential did not infringe on the patent. The decision upholds our assertion that the action was without merit."
