James Kwantes, in the March 22, 2017, edition of Resource Opportunities, refreshes his buy of Erdene Resource Development Corp., recently 90 cents. He previously said buy on Sept. 30, 2016, at 37.5 cents. A $1,000 investment then is now worth $2,399. Erdene plans to drill 15,000 metres this year at its Bayan Khundii project, along with 5,000 metres at its Altan Nar project and early-stage Altan Arrow target, all in Mongolia. Mr. Kwantes is particularly looking forward to the program at Bayan Khundii, which he calls one of the world's best gold discoveries in the last two years. To help pay for drilling, Erdene recently closed a $13.8-million bought deal of 77-cent shares. The company has never had this much money in its treasury. Mr. Kwantes is optimistic that Erdene's drill programs will churn out plenty of high-grade hits this year, which may be followed by an initial resource estimate on Bayan Khundii. He acknowledges that Mongolia does not have a stellar investment reputation, but says the country is trying to change that. Worth noting is that Rio Tinto approved a $5.3-billion (U.S.) expansion to its Oyu Tolgoi mine in Mongolia last year. Mr. Kwantes concludes that Erdene is a "gem" with a sparkling future ahead.
