The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Dec. 14, edition that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Robert Kwan sees upside potential in Enbridge ($49.56) in the first half of 2018. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Kwan lowered his share target to $59 from $63, with an unchanged "outperform" rating. Analysts on average target the shares at $58.07. Mr. Kwan attended Enbridge's Investor Day event in New York on Tuesday. He says there were no surprises at the event. He says details around Enbridge's financial outlook and financing "complements the meaningful and tangible actions the company is taking to drive cash flow growth while maintaining balance sheet strength and flexibility." Mr. Kwan says in a note: "While the company recognizes that the market wants a simpler structure (i.e., one c-corp being ENB without any sponsored vehicles), Enbridge made it clear that a single entity was not going to occur any time soon. In the meantime, we think that Enbridge will continue to look at steps to instead simplify its business (i.e., exiting non-core business lines to focus on 'crown jewel' assets) as well as incremental actions to try to improve its sponsored vehicles' cost of capital."
