The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, March 7, edition that BMO Nesbitt Burns analyst Ben Pham calls Enbridge his "best idea" in energy infrastructure upon resuming coverage of the stock following the $28-billion (U.S.) acquisition of Spectra Energy (all subsequent figures Canadian). The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Pham says: "We believe the acquisition addresses key investor concerns regarding the growth visibility and the balance sheet and as the guidance is delivered, we expect significant FCF generation and valuation upside as a result. With the attractive total return profile and premium assets, ENB is moved to our Best Idea in Energy Infrastructure, with our pecking order now ENB, BLX, FTS, TRP, and AQN." With an "outperform" rating for the stock, Mr. Pham increased his target price to $72 from $58 "to reflect our positive view on the recently closed scale-changing Spectra Energy acquisition and improved growth profile, asset footprint, and balance sheet/funding position." Analysts on average target the shares at $62.91. Mr. Pham says, "The acquisition addresses key investor concerns regarding the growth visibility and the balance sheet."
