The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday edition that federal reviews of proposed pipelines such as TransCanada's Energy East and Kinder Morgan's Trans Mountain will not be halted while the new government brings changes to the National Energy Board. A Bloomberg dispatch to The Globe says reviews by the NEB "haven't stopped," as the regulator changes its composition to bring in more diverse views including those of aboriginal groups, Natural Resources Minister Jim Carr said on a conference call from Paris. "The process continues, there will be a transition as we amend the ways in which the National Energy Board goes about the process of evaulating those projects, and we will announce those changes as soon as we can." Mr. Carr also reiterated the new Liberal Party government is opposed to Enbridge's Northern Gateway project. TransCanada closed Wednesday at $43.54, up 40 cents, while Enbridge closed at $50.28, up 65 cents.
