The Globe and Mail reports in its Saturday edition that six first nations in British Columbia have filed 11 court challenges against Enbridge's proposed $7.9-billion Northern Gateway pipeline. The Globe's Mark Hume writes that B.C. Nature has two court challenges against Northern Gateway. Forest Ethics and other environmental
groups have three actions on the go in court against Northern Gateway.
Unifor, Canada's largest private-sector union, has two court actions.

to Canadians, but only foreign
oil companies will benefit." Kinder Morgan's $5.4-billion Trans Mountain expansion faces seven court actions.
Vancouver and Burnaby have filed
three challenges against the Trans Mountain expansion. Environmental
groups have currently two actions in court. One first nation has filed a case against Kinder Morgan's expansion plan. Kinder Morgan's injunction against protesters blocking its workers has led to 26
contempt of court arrests. The judge's ruling said, "There is no doubt that
the plaintiff has the express
lawful authority to access
those parts of the land from
which its representatives have
been impeded."
