DynaCERT to launch HydraGEN at TruckWorld 2018

2018-03-05 15:57 ET - News Release

Mr. Jim Payne reports

DYNACERT OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF HYDRAGEN AT TRUCKWORLD 2018

As a member of the Ontario Trucking Association, DynaCERT Inc. will launch its HydraGEN technology at the TruckWorld 2018 trade show in Toronto from April 19 to April 21, 2018, where the company will be showcasing its innovative HG-1 25-series and 45-series units for long-haul transport and HG-2 15-series and 25-series units for reefer trailers, along with its rugged-cased units for heavy equipment.

"This is really a historic move for the DynaCERT organization," said Mike Christodoulou, former Cummins Eastern Canada distributor principal and president as well as a member of DynaCERT's advisory board. "After testing at the highly acclaimed PIT Group in November, 2017, it seems very clear to me that this technology is a great fit for the trucking industry." Those results indicated a 5.9-per-cent improvement in fuel economy and between 46.1-per-cent and 50-per-cent reduction in carbon monoxide, total hydrocarbons and NOx (nitrogen oxides). "These results simply cannot be ignored by such a major industry as Canadian trucking," adds Mr. Christodoulou. "TruckWorld is the largest truck show in Canada. I have been attending for decades. All the truck and trailer OEMs [original equipment manufacturers], engine and transmission manufacturers, and hundreds of suppliers to the industry will be there. Also, most of the major truck fleets in Canada will be in attendance, along with a very large number of owner operators. I am very pleased to say the DynaCERT has chosen TruckWorld as the venue for the official launch of its product line and has committed to continue doing so going forward."

Product line and their addressable markets

The company produces two HG1 HydraGEN series models for medium and large diesel engines. The HG1-25 for normally aspirated engines sized two-litre to five-litre displacement and the HG1-45 for turbocharged engines up to 15-litre displacement. Larger engines can also be accommodated by installing multiple HG1 units which operate in parallel. The HG1 series are also available in a ruggedized case for applications that require a heavier environmental protection system.

The company's technology is scalable, allowing use with Class 6 to 8 on-road vehicles and transition to applications with rail, marine, off-road and power generation. The company's patent-pending electrolysis system and Smart ECU provide a reliable and adjustable delivery of H2 (hydrogen) and O2 (oxygen) concentrations. Not all engines are the same, and having the optimal ratios and percentages provides increased benefits.

In addition, the company is finalizing performance testing on the HG2 HydraGEN series and has developed two models for commercial release in Q2 2018. The HG2 series are smaller in size and are targeted for the refrigerated trailer market with engines up to 2.5-litre displacement. The HG2 units are also applicable to mobile construction equipment, Class 2 to 5 delivery trucks and smaller stationary generators. This market size represents approximately 20 million applications in North America and similar-sized market opportunities in each of the European and Asian markets.

Production and growing capacity

Production of the different HG1 series models is under way with the current capacity to build HG1 units at 6,000 units per month. Production of the HG2 series models is soon to be operational, and DynaCERT is expecting to receive the specialized robotic laser-welding equipment that is being manufactured in Germany to facilitate production. Future capacity to produce HG2 units is planned to reach 10,000 units per month.
