Canada Strategic starts survey at New Gold

2015-06-17 10:08 ET - News Release

Mr. Christophe Romary reports

CANADA STRATEGIC METALS ANNOUNCES BEGINNING OF A 304 KILOMETRES AIRBORNE SURVEY ON NEW GOLD PROJECT, JAMES-BAY NEAR VISIBLE GOLD BOULDERS DISCOVERY

Canada Strategic Metals Inc. has begun an airborne survey on its 100-per-cent-owned New Gold property, James Bay.

Canada Strategic Metals has contracted Prospectair Geosurveys Inc. of Gatineau, Que., for a detailed helicopter-borne magnetic and time-domain electromagnetic (TDEM) survey of its New Gold project in James Bay, in the province of Quebec. The survey is expected to be completed before the end of the month of June.

The property was acquired by map designation following a compilation of all the information available from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and an assessment of the glacial train aimed at identifying the potential in situ source of the boulders identified by Visible Gold Mines. The compilation also indicated that the property covers a strong southwest-northeast magnetic anomaly crossed by a northwest-southeast major structure. The junction of these two structures is located right in the middle of the newly acquired property, named the New Gold project.

The Mag-TDEM geophysical survey will consist of a data acquisition program over a total of 304 linear kilometres on one survey block at 100-metre line spacing.

Upon completion of the heliborne survey, Joel Dube, Eng, a consultant specialized in geophysics, will generate anomaly-picking and interpretation maps. These products will be key in providing prospective guidance on potential mineralization targets for future prospection and drilling program. A preliminary map will be available soon after the survey is completed, and final maps, data and report are expected within two weeks of completion of the data acquisition.

A Eurocopter EC120B aircraft equipped with the lightweight ProspecTEM system and a Geometrics magnetometer will be used to carry out the survey. This cost-effective geophysical configuration is well adapted for reconnaissance surveys with the objective of delineating conductors to a depth of about 150 metres while maintaining excellent spatial resolution. Given the conductive and magnetic nature of the angular mineralized boulders found by Visible Gold Mines along road 167, the Mag-TDEM heliborne technology offers an adapted data combination, thus maximizing chances to discover the suboutcropping sources of the boulders found in the area by Visible Gold Mines.

Jean-Sebastien Lavallee (OGQ No. 773), geologist, shareholder and chief executive officer of the company and a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical content of this release.
