The Globe and Mail reports in its Saturday, Dec. 23, edition that Canaccord Genuity Group ($5.45) may be vulnerable to investor selling to book tax losses. The Globe's Ted Dixon writes in the Who Is Buying and Selling column that Canaccord caught his attention because the stock is off about 17 per cent from its 52-week high set on July 12. However, over the past 90 days, insiders, including the chairman and the chief executive officer, are net buyers of $1,075,950 worth of stock. Given the company's exposure to corporate underwriting and wealth management, Mr. Dixon says the stock could benefit from a strong global growth environment. The Globe's Ian Tam writes recommended buying Canaccord in the Number Cruncher column on June 29. The shares could then be had for $5.34.
