STATEMENT FROM CHAIRMAN OF CANACCORD GENUITY GROUP INC.

Canaccord Genuity Group Inc.'s president and chief executive officer, Paul Reynolds, has been hospitalized following an unexpected medical emergency during a family vacation. He remains in serious but improving condition. Chairman David Kassie will assume the role of chief executive officer on an interim basis until Mr. Reynolds is able to resume his duties.

"We are optimistic for Paul's full and speedy recovery," said Mr. Kassie. "He is awake and responsive with his family by his side."

The Reynolds family requests privacy during Mr. Reynolds's recovery.
