BURCON CLOSES US$1.65 MILLION PRIVATE PLACEMENT

Burcon NutraScience Corp. has closed a non-brokered private placement of 660,000 common shares at a price of $2.50 (U.S.) per share for gross proceeds of $1.65 (U.S.), or approximately $2,041,000 based on the Bank of Canada U.S.-dollar-Canadian-dollar noon exchange rate of 1.23716 on Jan. 22, 2015. Proceeds from the placement will be used for general working capital purposes.

The common shares sold in the placement are subject to a four-month hold period, which, under applicable Canadian securities laws, expires on May 23, 2015.
