The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, May 27, edition that the Bank of Canada named Sheryl
King as a New York-based adviser
to Governor Stephen Poloz.
A Bloomberg dispatch to The Globe reports that Ms. King's prior jobs included
managing director at Roubini
Global Economics and chief economist
and strategist at Merrill
Lynch Canada, the central bank
said Thursday. She had also
served previously for eight years
at the Bank of Canada as an economist
and in the financial markets
department.
"I am delighted to welcome
Sheryl King back to the bank and
to our senior management team,"
Mr. Poloz said. "Her extensive
background in U.S. economic and
financial market analysis, together
with her well-established professional
network in New York
and beyond, will benefit the bank
greatly."
The appointment is effective on
July 5.
