SCOTIAFUNDS EXPANDS INVESTMENT OPTIONS

Bank of Nova Scotia's ScotiaFunds has expanded options for investors seeking greater tax efficiency and regular cash flow from their non-registered assets. The additions include four new Scotia Partners Portfolio Class funds. As well, ScotiaFunds announced today seven new Series T options for income-seeking investors of Scotia Partners trust funds and Innova trust funds. ScotiaFunds are managed by 1832 Asset Management LP.

"Our goal is to help our clients to grow, preserve and draw an income from their wealth over the long term. For many Canadians, this includes investments held outside their registered plans," said Neil Macdonald, managing director of ScotiaFunds. "The latest additions to Scotia Corporate Class Funds provide investors with additional choice and flexibility to rebalance, reallocate or draw an income from their non-registered investments in a tax-smart manner."

Scotia Partners portfolios strategically blend a diversified mix of mutual funds from some of Canada's prominent investment companies in the convenience of a single investment. More than 200,000 clients, with a combined $8.5-billion in assets under management (as of Nov. 30, 2015), have entrusted Scotia Partners portfolios to help them achieve their unique investment goals.

The new funds include Series A and Series T options for Scotia Partners Portfolios Class funds and the new Series T options are offered by Scotia Partners portfolios and Scotia Innova portfolios. Each Scotia Partners Portfolio Class fund is offered as a separate class of shares within the Scotia Corporate Class Fund structure. Investors can switch from one class of shares to another without triggering an immediate taxable event.
