Berkwood starts access road work at Peter Lake

2012-10-18 09:06 ET - News Release

Mr. Brian Buchanan reports

BERKWOOD ANNOUNCES ACCESS ROAD UPGRADE PROGRAM UNDERWAY AT PETER LAKE IN PREPARATION FOR BULK SAMPLING AT MINERALIZED ZONES

Berkwood Resources Ltd. has commenced construction, upgrading and extending existing access roads on its Peter Lake copper property, located 90 kilometres north of Mont-Laurier, Que.

Upgrades to the existing roads will allow for heavy vehicle access to the two mineralized zones, the Peter Lake South showing and the Peter Lake North showing. Heavy vehicle access is necessary for planned bulk sampling to be conducted at the zones, along with continuing advanced fieldwork (see news release dated Oct. 16, 2012). It is expected that the road upgrades for heavy duty equipment will be completed by Oct. 30, 2012. Bulk samples from the zones will be prepared (about 2,000 tonnes) for metallurgical testing, and to determine bulk copper and nickel grades for comparison with mean channel sampling grades to guide future work.

These improvements to existing infrastructure at Peter Lake will also benefit exploration work being carried out at numerous other mineralized areas of interest on the property.

The Peter Lake property

The Peter Lake property consists of 24 claims totalling 1,403 hectares located in the Mont-Laurier Terrane, in the Central Grenville province, Quebec. The property lies within a sequence of metasedimentary rocks, felsic intrusives and gabbros. Copper-nickel mineralization in the area has been traced by prospecting for more than two kilometres within late gabbroic dikes along northeast-controlling structures.
