2015-02-19 09:32 ET - News Release

Ms. Eleni Tenuta reports

CTV GO NOW AVAILABLE TO 90% OF ENGLISH TV SUBSCRIBERS AS ROGERS COMMUNICATIONS, ACCESS COMMUNICATIONS, CABLE CABLE, NEXICOM, AND NORTHWESTEL SIGN ON

BCE Inc.'s CTV has made its CTV Go TV Everywhere service available to Rogers Communications Inc., Access Communications, Cable Cable, Nexicom and Northwestel subscribers, giving CTV Go a 90-per-cent penetration rate in English Canada. The news follows CTV's announcement last week that CTV Go now supports Google Chromecast, making CTV the first broadcaster in the country to provide Chromecast functionality.

The four new partners join Bell Fibe, Bell TV, Bell Aliant FibreOP TV, Northerntel FibreOP, Shaw Cable, Shaw Direct, Telus Optik TV and Eastlink as CTV Go partners.

CTV Go provides viewers the freedom to enjoy live streams of CTV and CTV Two's complete schedules on their smart phones, tablets and computers, including the flexibility to start, stop and continue their favourite CTV programs seamlessly, in and out of the home, at no additional cost. With access to more than 60 program titles, CTV Go features 14 of the top 20 most-watched programs in Canada, including The Big Bang Theory, Gotham, Person of Interest and more, in addition to continuing unprecedented access to live special-event programming.

"With the Academy Awards just days away, this is an exciting time of year for our new CTV Go partners and their customers," said Mike Cosentino, senior vice-president, programming, CTV Networks. "CTV Go delivers an amazing live-streaming and on-demand viewing experience wherever television customers want it."

"We are thrilled to bring CTV Go to well over eight million homes across Canada. Today's announcement reinforces our strategy to make our leading TV Everywhere products available to as many viewers as possible," said Domenic Vivolo, executive vice-president, content sales and distribution marketing, Bell Media. "With a simple user experience along with Canada's top-rated content, CTV Go provides viewers the ability to watch their favourite shows any place, any time, increasing the value of their overall TV subscription."

The recently updated CTV Go app offers a superior viewing experience unlike anything else offered in Canada, with an attractive interface and a fluid user experience. With core improvements that have made the app faster, the user experience is improved with easily accessible content, including full-length episodes and extras. In addition to being available via iOS and Android devices, and on the Web at the CTV website, the recently updated CTV Go app features full support for Google Chromecast. CTV Go is part of Bell Media's leading suite of TV Everywhere products, including TMN Go, TSN Go, Discovery Go, RDS Go, CraveTV and more.

CTV Go is a free app allowing Canadians to access CTV's No. 1 television lineup on demand for seven days following a television broadcast. Additional content is available exclusively to Canadians who subscribe to participating TV service providers, allowing them extended catch-up viewing windows, as well as live streams of CTV and CTV Two broadcasts. Currently, participating service providers include Access Communications, Bell Fibe, Bell TV, Bell Aliant FibreOP TV, Cable Cable, Eastlink, Northerntel FibreOP, Shaw Cable, Shaw Direct, Telus Optik TV, Northwestel, Nexicom and Rogers Communications, with additional CTV Go partners to be announced soon.
