The Financial Post reports in its Wednesday edition that Aurora Cannabis chief executive officer Terry Booth says he "loses sleep" over supply issues. The Post's Vanmala Subramaniam quotes Mr. Booth as saying on a call with analysts Monday: "I lose sleep over our ability to supply this global cannabis market. It will be at least five years until we have an oversupply situation." The Edmonton-based company kicked off a major week in cannabis company earnings with revenue that largely met analysts' expectations -- it generated $54.2-million in revenue in the second quarter ending Dec. 31, 2018, an 83-per-cent increase from the previous quarter. The results provide the first clear look of Canadian consumer demand for recreational cannabis since it was legalized last October. The company sold 6,999 kilograms of dried cannabis to both the recreational and medical markets between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, a 162-per-cent increase from sales in the quarter prior to this one. More of the company's revenue still came from sales to the medical market; Aurora generated $25.9-million in revenue from sales to the Canadian and international medical cannabis markets, and $21.6-million from domestic adult use sales.
