The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has halted Green and Hill Industries Inc., a pink sheets company that plans to enter the medical marijuana business with professional snowboarder Ross Rebagliati as its chief executive officer. The SEC cites questions about the accuracy of publicly disseminated information on the company and its operations. A halt is necessary for the protection of investors, the regulator says.

The SEC's halt comes just three months after Green and Hill announced that it had completed a reverse takeover with a private entity called Rebagliati Gold Enterprises Ltd. The company said that it planned to use "the celebrity of Olympic Gold winner Ross Rebagliati as a springboard into the [medical marijuana] industry." It would create a number of marijuana strains, with names such as Ross' Platinum, Ross' Gold, Ross' Silver and Ross' Bronze. Each would target specific ailments.
