The TSX Venture Exchange lost 2.07 points to close at 608.48 Tuesday. Three shells have closed their initial public offerings and have listed on the exchange: Mervyn Pinto and Zac Dolesky's first capital pool shell, Kepler Acquisition Corp. (KEP: $0.15); Peter Rona's first capital pool shell, Bold Capital Enterprises Ltd. (BOLD: $0.105); and Neil Currie's first capital pool shell, First Light Capital Corp. (XYZ). Including these three shells, 20 have listed so far this year. By this time last year, 17 shells had listed.

When it comes to closing deals, the activity this year is also about the same as last year's. Six capital pool shells have closed their qualifying transactions and graduated from the capital pool shell sector so far this year. By this time last year, eight capital pool shells had graduated. There are now 166 capital pool shells on the exchange. Fifty-eight of them have announced and are working on potential QTs. The rest of them are looking for deals, or at least that is what they are supposed to be doing. Perhaps some of them have forgotten. Thirty-seven capital pool shells have yet to find and close QTs despite having been listed for more than five years now.
