The TSX Venture Exchange gained a fraction to 615.09 Tuesday. Daniele (Dan) Forigo has filed a preliminary prospectus to list his first capital pool shell, Shine Box Capital Corp. It plans to sell a $300,000 initial public offering at 10 cents through Canaccord Genuity Corp.
Mr. Forigo, 46, lives in Calgary and holds 500,000 of the shell's three million escrow shares. He has public company experience, mostly with U.S. listings. In 1999, when he was about 27, he worked at Jerry Mikolajczyk's OTCBB-listed Internet promotion, American Benefits Group Inc. Mr. Forigo managed the company's website called Art On Rodeo, an auction website for collectibles such as photos autographed by Muhammad Ali, memorabilia autographed by Wayne Gretzky and an original cel from the 1942 Disney movie Bambi (a cel is a transparent sheet on which pictures are drawn for traditional animation). American Benefits had other websites, for instance The Gem Store, where it sold sapphire jewellery. Its stock traded up to $3.06 (U.S.) in 1999, but at the end of 2000 it was down to one-half U.S. cent.
