The TSX Venture Exchange gained 5.80 points to 591.69 Wednesday. Edward Ierfino's second capital pool shell, Element 79 Capital Inc., has closed its qualifying transaction and launched Mondias Natural Products Inc. (NHP: $0.24), a Montreal company that sells nutritional supplements and homeopathic products. Today, Mondias's stock reached an intraday high of 31.5 cents before closing at 24 cents on 363,100 shares.
Mondias is not yet profitable. We last discussed it in detail in the Shell Summary for Nov. 14, 2018. In connection with its launch, Mondias sold a $1.39-million private placement at 10.5 cents to 47 investors. It will use the proceeds for product development and marketing.
Mondias's chairman, Andre Rancourt, is one of its largest shareholders with 11.67 million shares or 19.6 per cent. From September, 2016, to April, 2018, he was the chairman of Tetra Bio-Pharma Inc. (TBP: $1.03), which is working on cannabis-based drugs for treating pain, inflammation, and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Another large shareholder of Mondias is Robert Brouillette, also with 11.67 million shares or 19.6 per cent. He is a lawyer and a former director of Tetra Bio-Pharma.
