The TSX Venture Exchange gained 4.80 points to 646.62 Thursday, its first gain in eight trading days. It closed at 711.36 before the seven-day losing streak. Largely contributing to the decline were marijuana stocks, which dipped after having climbed in anticipation of Canada's legalization, effective Oct. 17, of recreational marijuana.
Doron Cohen, who last month filed a final prospectus to list his first capital pool shell, A-Labs Capital I Corp., has now filed a preliminary prospectus to list his second capital pool shell, A-Labs Capital II Corp. Each A-Labs shell aims to sell a $200,000 to $400,000 initial public offering at 10 cents through Haywood Securities Inc.
Mr. Cohen, 45, lives in Israel and has worked at several mobile and telecommunications software companies. In 2007, he founded a mobile marketing company called Volas Entertainment Ltd. Five years later, Volas was acquired for an undisclosed amount by Digital Turbine Inc. (APPS: $1.28 (U.S.)), a Nasdaq-listed mobile marketing company in Texas. Mr. Cohen then joined Digital Turbine and was the head of its EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) division until 2014. These days, he runs a corporate advisory firm called A-Labs Finance and Advisory Ltd.
