The TSX Venture Exchange gained 4.29 points to 724.71 Friday, ending the month up 17.80 points. Johannes Kingma's fourth capital pool shell, Quantum Blockchain Technologies Ltd. (QBC), has closed its $300,000 initial public offering at 10 cents through Canaccord Genuity Corp. The stock will begin trading on Tuesday. Quantum Blockchain plans to seek a tech deal for its qualifying transaction, perhaps more specifically a blockchain deal, as its name suggests.
Mr. Kingma, a former broker, completed one mining deal and two oil and gas deals for his first three shells. Mr. Kingma remains the chairman and chief executive officer of one of his shell graduates, Synstream Energy Corp. (SHM: $0.025), which plans to roll back 1 for 5. This is the failure on his shell-making record.
