The TSX Venture Exchange closed up a fraction to 784.70 Tuesday, ending the month up 3.47 points. David Patterson and Colin Watt's sixth capital pool shell, Von Capital Corp. (VON), began trading today. It opened at 16 cents and closed at 20 cents on 214,000 shares. Von sold a $300,000 initial public offering at 10 cents, through PI Financial Corp.

Mr. Patterson and Mr. Watt are Vancouver promoters and shell-makers. We last discussed their shell-making record in the Shell Summary for June 16, 2017. We concluded then that their first five capital pool shells yielded two successes and three failures for their IPO shareholders. We consider a shell to have been a success if its IPO shareholders had sufficient opportunity to get out of their investment with a profit, reasonably soon after the shell closed its qualifying transaction. Earlier this month, Mr. Patterson and Mr. Watt filed a preliminary prospectus to list their seventh capital pool shell, Two Owls Ventures Corp. This shell plans to sell a $400,000 IPO at 10 cents, through Leede Jones Gable Inc. Once the shell files its final prospectus, it will have 90 days to close its IPO.
