The TSX Venture Exchange fell 3.22 points to 784.16 Monday. Anthony Viele's halted capital pool shell, Adent Capital Corp. (ANT), plans to acquire a Colombian marijuana promotion called Khiron Life Sciences Corp. for the shell's qualifying transaction. The shell will roll back 1 for 8, leaving it with 706,249 shares, then issue 32,570,281 shares to its target's shareholders. Before the QT can close, Khiron must raise $6-million. It has not yet set the financing terms. Two months ago, Khiron sold a $2.87-million private placement at 70 cents. There were 47 subscribers, including 21 from Colombia, 13 from Ontario, five from British Columbia and three from Panama.

In December, 2015, the government of Colombia legalized medical marijuana. In April, 2017, it released its regulations for medical marijuana production, and last month it granted the first production licence, to Khiron. The company's long-term ambition is to become a marijuana exporter to other Latin American countries. Medical marijuana is legal in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Peru and Chile. Recreational marijuana is legal in Uruguay (and in Jamaica, but only to Rastafarians).
