The TSX Venture Exchange continued its descent Thursday, losing 2.97 points to 759.83. It has lost 66.54 points in the last five months. Mike Belantis has filed a preliminary prospectus to list his first capital pool shell, Rebel Capital Inc. The shell plans to sell the minimum allowed initial public offering of $200,000 worth of shares at 10 cents. Its IPO agent is Leede Jones Gable Inc.
Rebel Capital has two million escrowed shares, which it sold at five cents in September, 2016. Mr. Belantis, 41, holds 366,667 escrowed shares. From 2001 to 2006, he owned and operated a restaurant called Rocky Mountain Grill, about an hour west of Red Deer. Then from 2006 to 2009, he was one of the investor relations men for Timmins Gold Corp., which traded up to $1.47 at the time. Timmins has since fallen, rolled back 1 for 10 and changed its name to Alio Gold Inc. (ALO: $5.20). Mr. Belantis was also a business development manager from 2008 to 2010 at Otis Gold Corp. (OOO: $0.30), an Idaho gold explorer that traded up to 78 cents at the time.
