The TSX Venture Exchange rose 6.18 points to 777.25 Friday, ending the week down 0.66 point. Seven-year-old capital pool shell Antler Hill Oil & Gas Ltd. (AHO: halted) has replaced its two directors (Vic Luhowy and Ken MacRitchie) with four new ones: Matthew Wood, Peter Bures, Aneel Waraich and Ali Haji.
To find Mr. Wood, a geologist, to be chairman, Antler Hill had to go all the way to Mongolia, where lives the chosen geologist. He has been a director of more than a dozen resource issuers, mostly ones that traded on the Australian Securities Exchange. He is also the president of a Brazilian diamond explorer, Five Star Diamonds Ltd. (STAR: $0.29), which went public on the TSX-V two months ago through Peter Hinam's capital pool shell, Turquoise Capital Corp. Mr. Hinam, a first-time shell-maker, listed Turquoise in June, 2013, with a $301,200 initial public offering at 10 cents. He made the shell's IPO shareholders wait nearly four years for a qualifying transaction, but at least they now have the opportunity to get out of their investment with a profit.
