The TSX Venture Exchange gained 1.29 points to close at 796.83 Tuesday. Three recent shell graduates had a busy day, trading more than one million shares each. Silver One Resources Inc. (SVE) closed up three cents to $1.02 on two million shares; penny stock promoter David Lenigas's Cuban investment company, LGC Capital Ltd. (QBA), rose one-half cent to three cents on 1.58 million shares; and medical device promoter Peter Bakema's CVR Medical Corp. (CVM) climbed five cents to 58 cents on 1.02 million shares.

Silver One, which has three projects in Mexico, plans to acquire the Candelaria project in Nevada from Silver Standard Resources Inc. (SSO: $13.47). It will issue $4-million (U.S.) worth of shares to Silver Standard over three years. Silver One went public in August, 2016, through former broker Luke Norman's capital pool shell, BRS Ventures Ltd. The silver promotion has done incredibly well for BRS Ventures' shareholders, particularly the subscribers to a five-cent private placement arranged in connection with the shell's qualifying transaction. Considering Silver One's 3-for-1 split in September, 2016, those financing subscribers have a break-even price of 1.67 cents.
