The TSX Venture Exchange gained 1.03 points to 795.54 Monday. Chris Cooper's NEX shell, Westridge Resources Inc. (WST), rose nine cents to 17 cents on an unusually high 1.84 million shares, following its appointment of a new president, Michael Young. Outgoing president Cooper remains on the shell's board.

Mr. Young is a certified financial planner and a former material damage manager for the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. From September, 2006, to November, 2010, he was the president of clean-tech company Carbon Friendly Solutions Inc., which peaked at 48.5 cents in December, 2009. (Carbon Friendly has since changed its business to private mineral exploration and its name to La Jolla Capital Inc.) From February, 2011, to March, 2015, Mr. Young was the president of DraftTeam Fantasy Sports Inc., which peaked at 19 cents in May, 2014. DraftTeam now trades as Fantasy Aces Daily Fantasy Sports Corp. (FAS: $0.045). Currently, Mr. Young is the chief financial officer and a director of Green 2 Blue Energy Corp., a Vancouver-based producer of wood pellets that are used in generating biomass energy.
