The TSX Venture Exchange inched up 2.06 points to 736.97 Wednesday, ending the month down 35.80 points. Ted Geier and Karen Stewart's capital pool shell, Trusted Brand 2016 Inc. (HAH), listed on the TSX-V today. It reached an intraday high of 28 cents before closing at 25 cents on 109,700 shares. The shell sold a $570,725 initial public offering of 2,282,900 shares at 25 cents, through Emerging Equities Inc. Trusted Brand is the 17th capital pool shell to list this year. By this time last year, 14 capital pool shells had listed.

Mr. Geier and Ms. Stewart are both identified as promoters of the shell, but Mr. Geier is not a director. He is the shell's vice-president of business development, as well as its largest escrow shareholder with one million escrowed shares. Since 1991, he has been the president of Humfrey Industrial Repairs (1961) Ltd., a machining services company in Calgary. Ms. Stewart, a former stockbroker and a current insurance broker, is the chief executive officer and a director of Trusted Brand. She holds 80,000 escrowed shares. She is the founder and CEO of Oreiva Insurance Inc., which is an insurance brokerage in Calgary, and of Fairway Divorce Solutions Ltd., which is a divorce advisory firm with nine offices across Canada. Trusted Brand is the first public company involvement by either promoter.
