The TSX Venture Exchange closed up 11.07 points to 649.41 Tuesday. Steve Bajic's 10th capital pool shell, Huffington Capital Corp. (HU: $0.20), listed on the TSX-V today. It is the ninth shell to list on the TSX-V this year. By this time last year, five shells had listed. Huffington Capital brings to 132 the total number of capital pool shells on the TSX-V and the NEX. (A capital pool shell is downgraded to the NEX board from the TSX-V when it fails to complete a qualifying transaction within two years of listing, or after it receives QT completion deadline extensions. Once a shell is downgraded, it may remain on the NEX for as long as it can pay exchange fees and keep up with its filings.) Out of 132 capital pool shells, 62 are trading and available for deals.
Among the oldest listed capital pool shells is Richard Groome's halted, nine-year-old Bitumen Capital Inc. (BTM). Bitumen is acquiring an OTC Pink-listed software developer, Epcylon Technologies Inc. (PRFC: $0.085 (U.S.)), for its QT. To close the deal, the shell must sell a $1-million (U.S.) private placement of shares at 7.5 cents. As of last week, it had sold only $375,000 (U.S.) worth of shares.

That's a pretty harsh comment on the future of the Genview QT's future. Me thinks it will do well.
