The TSX Venture Exchange added 3.31 points to 695.31 Friday, ending the week up 4.16 points. Salim Ansari has filed a preliminary prospectus to list his first capital pool shell, Nurcapital Corp. Ltd. Mr. Ansari is a director of All Group Financial Services Inc., the Toronto brokerage firm in charge of selling the shell's initial public offering of between five million and 20 million shares at 20 cents.
Last January, Nurcapital sold 1.05 million escrow shares at 10 cents. Mr. Ansari, the shell's 70-year-old chief executive officer, is the largest shareholder with 600,000 escrow shares. In addition to serving on the board of All Group Financial, Mr. Ansari is a chartered accountant and the founder of An-Nur (Ontario) Cooperative Corp. Ltd., a company that specializes in Sharia'h-compliant financing and investments. An-Nur means "the light" in Arabic. The company says, "An-Nur is managed by a group of experienced and sincere Muslim professionals who are dedicated to serve you/the community only for the pleasure of Allah (SWT)." It pleases Allah by focusing on commercial and residential real estate projects.
