The TSX Venture Exchange added 7.28 points to 681.61 Monday, the start of a shortened trading week. This year will likely end with 21 new capital pool shells listing on the TSX-V, compared with 37 in 2013. Many shell-makers are having difficulty completing their initial public offerings, which has the benefit of keeping the numbers down. With shells, less is more. Brian Vallesi, for example, filed new quarterly financials today for his unlisted capital pool company, AH Capital Corp., revealing that he still hopes to close an IPO for the shell. It first filed a prospectus in November, 2012, to sell a $200,000 IPO at 10 cents, and subsequently filed an amended prospectus in February, 2013, for the same amount. Hampton Securities Ltd. appears to still be in charge of the elusive offering. Mr. Vallesi is also on the board of Simon Yakubowicz's capital pool shell, the halted Cluny Capital Corp. (CLN), which recently reported a plan to buy a European wood pellet supplier as its qualifying transaction.
