The TSX Venture Exchange added 1.62 points to 1,023.99 Friday, ending the week up 18.41 points and the month up 22.47 points. Richard Besner's five-year-old capital pool shell, Rodocanachi Capital Inc. (ROD), has found yet another qualifying transaction, its fifth since listing in September, 2009. This time it plans to acquire AlliancePharma Inc., a job agency in Quebec for health care professionals. Apparently the shell's target does not handle job placements for companies in the increasingly popular medical marijuana industry, at least not yet. So far, AlliancePharma only helps professionals find work at pharmacies and hospitals.

The shell plans to roll back its shares 1:3, leaving it with 2,133,333 postconsolidated shares, and then issue 23 million postconsolidated shares to the target's two shareholders, Isabelle Begin and Marc Lemieux, each of whom owns 50 per cent of AlliancePharma. They founded the company in 2010. Before that, Ms. Begin worked for four years in sales at Ratiopharm, a German pharmaceutical company, and then for one year at Teva Pharmaceuticals, an Israeli pharmaceutical company that acquired Ratiopharm for $5-billion. Mr. Lemieux used to work for Zimmer Holdings Corp. (ZMH: $99.31), a medical device manufacturer. They will both join the board of Rodocanachi following the QT, if No. 5 completes.
