New York spot gold rose $9.10 to $1,321.40 on Friday. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 7.53 points to 616.93 while the TSX Gold Index added 1.42 points to 190.27. New Gold Inc. (NGD) lost another eight cents to $1.12 on 14.11 million shares. The stock tumbled 43 cents to $1.20 on 24.08 million shares Thursday, on a disappointing 2018 loss and a discouraging 2019 forecast. Tahoe Resources Inc. (THO) was weaker as well. It lost 18 cents to $4.91 on 1.31 million shares. Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) went the other way, adding $1.47 to $57.16 on 1.06 million shares.

Rick Mark's Harvest Gold Corp. (HVG), down 1.5 cents to 2.5 cents on 7.48 million shares, has received assays of up to 20.1 grams of gold and 22.5 grams of silver per tonne over one metre from a maiden drill program at its Cerro Cascaron gold and silver project in Chihuahua, Mexico. The high-grade hit occurred within a 6.5-metre zone within the Serpiente Dorada area that averaged 3.29 grams of gold and 6.3 grams of silver per tonne. A hole into the San Pedro zone yielded 1.02 grams of gold and 13 grams of silver over 4.8 metres.
