New York spot gold recovered $2.00 to $1,201.90 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange dropped another 11.85 points to 626.42 while the TSX Gold Index lost 1.74 points to 156.97. Most Canadian gold miners moved little today, although Osisko Gold Royalties Ltd. (OR) did add nine cents to $9.40 on 833,000 shares. Endeavour Mining Corp. (EDV) went the other way, dropping 43 cents to $17.37 on 248,000 shares.

Bill Chornobay's not so lucky Luckystrike Resources Ltd. (LUKY) lost seven cents to 23 cents on 75,000 shares on receipt of assays from its Lucky Strike gold project in the White Gold district of Yukon. The assays, from 11 holes drilled this year into the Monte Carlo zone, yielded up to 4.55 grams of gold per tonne over 7.6 metres. All but one of the holes produced gold, but generally with modest grades over short intervals. The best grade was a 7.89-gram-per-tonne hit, but it spanned just four metres. Meanwhile, three holes contained mineralized intervals longer than 10 metres, but the grades were less than 0.65 gram per tonne. (One 61.5-metre hit returned 0.5 gram per tonne.)
