New York spot gold fell $0.70 to $1,266.90 on Thursday. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 4.08 points to 755.33 while the TSX Gold Index slipped 0.74 point to 190.02. Canadian gold miners traded within narrow ranges again today. Goldcorp Inc. (G) dropped 18 cents to $17.91 on 3.30 million shares while Endeavour Mining Corp. (EDV) added 12 cents to $23.42 on 253,000 shares.

Matt Turner's Rockhaven Resources Ltd. (RK), down one-half cent to 13 cents on 126,000 shares, has updated its resource estimate for the Klaza project in southern Yukon. The company now lists 4.46 million tonnes indicated at 4.8 grams of gold and 98 grams of silver per tonne, accompanied by modest amounts of lead and zinc. Another 5.7 million tonnes are inferred at 2.8 grams of gold and 76 grams of silver per tonne, also with modest grades of lead and zinc. In all, the project now hosts 1.19 million ounces of gold and 28 million ounces of silver, or a combined 1.63 million equivalent ounces of gold.
