New York spot gold fell $4.70 to $1,324.00 on Wednesday. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 4.75 points to 828.07 while the TSX Gold Index slipped 0.23 point to 182.98. Yamana Gold Inc. (YRI) led Canadian golds higher today, adding seven cents to $3.83 on 6.72 million shares. Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) went the other way, dropping $1.41 to $51.29 on 1.63 million shares.

Fahad Al Tamimi and Claudio Ciavarella's Kerr Mines Inc. (KER), up 1.5 cents to 24 cents on 241,000 shares, has received assays of up to 102.7 grams of gold per tonne over 7.3 metres from several more holes of the company's first phase of drilling at the Copperstone zone on its Copperstone project in Arizona. A second hole produced 20.3 grams per tonne across 3.5 metres and a third yielded 37.1 grams per tonne over 0.6 metre. Kerr deemed assays from 14 holes worth mentioning in detail, with grades varying between three and eight grams of gold per tonne over intervals between 1.7 metres and 10.6 metres. The gold was also accompanied by copper, with assays from several of the holes topping 1 per cent copper.
