New York spot gold lost $9.70 to $1,280.00 on Friday. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 7.44 points to 789.51 while the TSX Gold Index added 0.39 point to 198.44. New Gold Inc. led Canadian gold miners higher today, adding 15 cents to $4.61 on 2.71 million shares. Klondex Mines Ltd. (KDX) had a tough day, dropping 34 cents to $4.06 on 2.05 million shares following news of its third quarter results.

Paul Antoniazzi's RT Minerals Corp. (RTM), down one-half cent to five cents on 969,000 shares, has completed 10 drill holes at Norwalk, near Wawa in Northern Ontario. (Norwalk is immediately south of the Wawa project, where Red Pine Exploration Inc. (RPX: $0.105) has been producing high-grade assays from drilling this year.) The 10-hole, 800-metre program was the promotional highlight of a campaign that included power stripping, prospecting, mapping and sampling of geophysical targets and historical gold showings. Mr. Antoniazzi, president and chief executive officer, says that RT Minerals is seeking "groups of close-spaced gold-bearing structures" and areas of near-surface gold-bearing sulphides as it targets a large orogenic deposit.
