New York spot gold fell $5.90 to $1,333.50 on Wednesday. The TSX Venture Exchange dropped 5.70 points to 773.99 while the TSX Gold Index lost 5.33 points to 207.40. Most Canadian golds were down today, although Centerra Gold Inc. (CG) added 51 cents to $8.22 on 2.77 million shares after it said that some accommodation with the usually difficult Kyrgyzstan government was possibly in the works.

Rudi Fronk's Seabridge Gold Inc. (SEA), down 49 cents to $15.09 on 127,000 shares, has received assays of up to 1.04 grams of gold and 4.0 grams of silver, plus 0.32 per cent copper, over 422.5 metres from one of five holes drilled into the Iron Cap deposit at its KSM project in northwestern British Columbia. The four other holes were also encouraging, with equally long intersections and solid grades. (A second test assayed 1.02 grams of gold and 3.6 grams of silver per tonne, plus 0.33 per cent copper, across 417.1 metres.) The drilling at Iron Cap this year is pursuing an area surrounding the discovery hole drilled a year ago with up to a dozen new step-out holes testing an area 600 metres long, 500 metres wide and 1,000 metres deep.
