Most Canadian golds moved little, although Alamos Gold Inc. (AGI) added 18 cents to $8.79 on 730,000 shares and Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX) fell 26 cents to $20.29 on 3.48 million shares.
Amir Adnani and Garnet Dawson's Goldmining Inc. (GOLD), up one cent to $1.69 on 245,000 shares, has completed its acquisition of the Yellowknife and Big Sky properties in the Northwest Territories from Tyhee Gold Corp. (TYE: $0.01), now in the throes of bankruptcy. Goldmining issued four million shares, worth less than $7-million, as payment for the properties on which Tyhee had spent over $60-million. Mr. Adnani, Goldmining's chairman, was pleased with having acquired "a gold property package of this scale and calibre." He says that the company's overriding focus continues to be the consolidation of multimillion-ounce gold resource assets in favourable areas, adding that "this transaction most certainly fits that description."
