New York spot gold lost $9.10 to $1,244.80 on Monday. The TSX Venture Exchange gained 0.69 point to 776.60 while the TSX Gold Index dipped 0.71 point to 197.24. Tahoe Resources Inc. (THO) led Canadian golds lower today. It dipped 22 cents to $10.84 on 2.26 million shares.
Alar Soever and Marz Kord's Wallbridge Mining Co. Ltd. (WM), down one-half cent to seven cents on 295,000 shares, has received assays of up to 5.52 grams of platinum, palladium and gold per tonne, accompanied by 1.67 per cent nickel and 0.94 per cent copper, over 3.81 metres at its Parkin Offset polymetallic project near Sudbury in Northeastern Ontario. The assays, from the latest eight holes, all produced precious metals. A second hole averaged 3.84 grams per tonne over 6.24 metres, accompanied by 1.09 per cent nickel and 0.85 per cent copper. Mr. Kord, president and chief executive officer, says the exploration drilling at Parkin is successfully expanding the near-surface mineralization while also testing for larger targets along the Parkin Offset dike.
