New York spot gold gained $3.90 to $1,132.20 on Friday. The TSX Venture Exchange gained 7.98 points to 728.13 while the TSX Gold Index added 3.87 points to 181.44. Canadian gold miners moved higher today, although Endeavour Mining Corp. (EDV) led a few the other way. It lost 10 cents to $17.73 on 240,000 shares. Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX) was strong. It gained 65 cents to $19.69 on 3.38 million shares.
Steven Roebuck's Natan Resources Ltd. (NRL), up one-half cent to 21.5 cents on 80,000 shares, has sold nine million regular shares at 20 cents and 8.8 million flow-through shares at 25 cents, raising $4-million. Natan set out to raise $3-million in mid-November, just days after Mr. Roebuck became president and chief executive officer, but it more than doubled the flow-through component three weeks later. (Upon closing, one million regular shares went unsold but the company exceeded its revised target of eight million flow-through shares.)
