Canadian gold miners moved little in listless trading, although Endeavour Mining Corp. (EDV) lost 12 cents to $19.96 on 85,000 shares and Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TXG) added 42 cents to $19.18 on 123,000 shares.
Dr. Michael Byron's Nighthawk Gold Corp. (NHK), unchanged at 44 cents on 629,000 shares, has received new assays from its Indin Lake property, 200 cold kilometres north of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. The new assays are from 12 holes spanning 2,850 metres, eight of which targeted the Colomac sill. (The other four holes targeted the Goldcrest North zone and they also yielded at least modest grades of gold.) The best assays came from the Colomac 2.5 zone, with assays of 1.47 grams of gold per tonne over 57 metres and 1.29 grams per tonne over 44 metres, although comparable results were obtained at Colomac 1.0.
