New York spot gold slipped 10 cents to $1,117.50 Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange dropped 7.89 points to 563.42 and the TSX Gold Index lost 2.27 points to 132.83.

Gold miners in Canada ended the day mostly down. Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX) fell 33 cents to $9.97, Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) lost 13 cents to $32.08 and Iamgold Corp. (IMG) lost 14 cents to $2.29, while Eldorado Gold Corp. (ELD) added one cent to $5.46.

Steve de Jong's Integra Gold Corp. (ICG) rose 1.5 cents to 28 cents on 3.46 million shares. Eldorado Gold is buying $14.6-million worth of Integra shares (52 million at 28 cents), acquiring 15 per cent of the company. After the financing, Integra will have $27-million in cash to continue exploring at its Lamaque gold property in Quebec, where the company aims to drill 70,000 metres this year. President de Jong, 31, has now closed $45.6-million in financings since last summer. He received $288,000 in salary and bonus for his work last year, up from $172,000 in 2013. He aims to bring the Lamaque project to production for $62-million. The company will use the old Sigma/Lamaque mill, which it acquired out of receivership last year. The project also came with 75 years of historical exploration data that have now been published on-line. The company has invited prospectors from around the world to sort through and analyze the data, in what it is calling the Integra Gold Rush Challenge. The company will then offer up to $1-million in cash prizes for the best exploration insights at next year's PDAC conference in Toronto. Mr. de Jong says he expects thousands of participants.
