The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Wednesday was a weak 78-87-136 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose one point to 637 and polished diamond prices reclaimed 0.1 per cent. Patrick Power's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD) continued to break out of its yearlong funk. The stock, 3.5 cents in February, rose another two cents to eight cents on 2.85 million shares today. There is nothing new, but the company is seeking cash to press ahead with its Timantti diamond project in Finland.
Mike Kobler's American Lithium Corp. (LI), up five cents to 50 cents on 595,000 shares, has received assays of up to 1,109 parts per million (ppm) lithium over 61 metres from its TLC project, near Tonopah in south-central Nevada. The assays are from the first hole of the company's phase 1 drill program, which is to span 18 holes completed to 100-metre depths. Mr. Kobler, chief executive officer, says that the company identified this initial discovery based on favourable surface grab sampling that had returned assays as high as 1,380 ppm lithium.
