The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Wednesday was a weak 64-84-154 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell three points to 619 while polished diamond prices reclaimed 0.1 per cent today. Chuck Fipke and Chad Ulansky's comatose Metalex Ventures Ltd. (MTX) showed a pulse today, getting to five cents before closing unchanged at 3.5 cents on 447,000 shares. The company has several diamond prospects on its books but there has been hardly any work on them in the past few years. Metalex spent less than $63,000 on the James Bay project in Quebec, Kyle Lake in Ontario and grassroots prospects in Mali and Morocco last year.

Dean Taylor's Diamcor Mining Inc. (DMI), up one-half cent to 17.5 cents on 435,000 shares, has wrapped up one of its best sales yet at its Krone-Endora at Venetia mine in South Africa. The company sold 1,220.23 carats of rough obtained from "continuing processing exercises" for just under $376,000 (U.S.), which works out to $308 (U.S.) per carat. In the first sale of 2019, Diamcor had sold 1,407.66 carats, fetching just under $385,000 (U.S.), or $273 (U.S.) per carat.
