The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a positive 73-71-146. The TSX Venture Exchange lost five points to 583 while polished diamond prices rose 0.1 per cent. Matt Manson's Stornoway Diamond Corp. (SWY) bounced off yet another all-time low, adding 1.5 cents to 20.5 cents on 2.02 million shares. The company has had tough, tougher and toughest quarters so far this year at its Renard mine in Quebec.
Chris Taylor and Chuck Fipke's Nunavut diamond promotion, Dunnedin Ventures Inc. (DVI), closed unchanged at 11 cents on 68,000 shares. Claudia Tornquist, president, and Mr. Taylor, chief executive officer, said last week that Dunnedin is "fully committed" to the diamond potential at Kahuna, just northeast of Rankin Inlet in Nunavut, but words aside, the company is seeking a fallback promotion. (The fallback was gold a few years ago, but Dunnedin spun off its gold hunt at Kahuna as Solstice Gold Corp. (SGC: $0.135). earlier this year.)
