The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a mediocre 59-77-154. The TSX Venture Exchange fell fractionally to 591 while polished diamond prices edged lower. Frank Smeenk's Debut Diamonds Inc. (DDI) added one-half cent to one cent on 3.45 million shares. The hot flash is a result of the company going through the change, one that could include Debut's diamond finale: The company is offering its long-dormant projects to any willing buyers.

Dr. Leon Daniels's Pangolin Diamonds Corp. (PAN), unchanged at five cents on 64,000 shares, says that its AK10 kimberlite has "potential" to contain diamonds larger than 50 carats. This assessment is based on indicator mineral chemistry analysis performed by Chuck Fipke's CF Mineral Research Ltd. in Kelowna. According to the assessment, one-sixth of over 4,000 garnets had mineral chemistry consistent with having come from the diamond stability field. Better, "a significant proportion of the clinopyroxenes" are like those extracted as inclusions from diamonds weighing at least 50 carats.
