The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was an upbeat 83-63-131. The TSX Venture Exchange rose fractionally to 728 while polished diamond prices rose 0.1 per cent. Arno Brand's Gratomic Inc. (GRAT) slipped two cents to 13.5 cents on 3.84 million shares. The company has been quiet since May, when it said it had fired up a processing plant at its Aukam graphite project in Namibia.
Chris Taylor and Chuck Fipke's Dunnedin Ventures Inc. (DVI), down four cents to 17.5 cents on 172,000 shares, has a new batch of diamonds from its Kahuna diamond project, northeast of Rankin Inlet. The gems are from kimberlite recovered from the 07KD-24 target, a 2007 discovery by Pamela Strand's now defunct Shear Minerals Inc. The kimberlite is from three rotary air blast holes drilled into the body. Dunnedin also tested the high-grade PST dike; those diamond counts are still pending, as are counts for an additional two holes drilled at 07KD-24.
