The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was an 89-89-113 draw. The TSX Venture Exchange gained 18 points to 898 while polished diamond prices edged lower. Sheldon Inwentash's Gratomic Inc. (GRAT) gained four cents to 22 cents on 2.82 million shares. The company, CKR Carbon Corp. until late last year, is touting plans to produce graphene or micrographite for use in tires.

Dermot Desmond and David Whittle's Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPVD), down 10 cents to $3.43 on 643,000 shares, thinks that additional kimberlites may be lurking on the fringes of the tight cluster of kimberlite pipes that make up its Gahcho Kue project, 250 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. Indeed, drilling in the Southwest corridor near the 5034 pipe has already turned up new kimberlite that will likely find its way to the plant at some point. While the Gahcho Kue project had an initial reserve of 55 million carats and an additional resource of nearly 20 million more, the hunt for more goes on.
